Who will change my prepayment meter for free?

Me Asked: Who will change my prepayment meter for free?

Have just moved into a property which has a prepayment meter for electric and regular meter for gas. I phoned the supplier that the previous tenant was with (scottish power) and asked them to change it as I didn't want it. They told me it would cost 50 + 160 "deposit" which I would get at the end of the year if I paid my bills on time. I told them to go f*ck themselves. I have been with edf at my last property for over a year, will they do it for free as I have already proven to them I am reliable with payment of bills? If not which other providers will change it for free.

My landlady is fine with the change as the last tenant had it put in without telling her.
